Customized Quick Access Toolbar in Office 2007

The Problem: User receives a new machine and loses customized MS Office 2007 Quick Access Toolbars (the user only has default options Save, Undo, Redo).

When you first customize your quick access toolbar in Word, Excel, or other Office 2007 apps, it saves this information locally on your XP machine or NDS server in a file called Word.qat, Excel.qat, etc. This files are located here:
%USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Office
The files are not created until you actually customize the toolbar. When you connect to a different machine or get a new machine, you don’t actually retain these settings because these .qat files are stored under the local settings of your local profile, they are never uploaded to the roaming server profile.

In theory, settings like this should be saved to roaming profile or z: drive.

Yes it is a ridiculous oversight by Microsoft. I also seems particularly arrogant that they are pretending they didn't get it wrong.

I have posted simple scripts which can be implemented as Group Policies to fix the problem.
